Ball & Chain

Ball & Chain

I traded in my Ball & Chain
for a brand new rod & reel
Fishing seasons coming soon
and I got a real sweet deal

I traded in my Ball & Chain
now time is on my side
I can fish each day and every night
on both ends of the tide

I traded in my Ball & Chain
I am single and I'm pumped!
My obsession chasing big striped bass
is the reason I was dumped

I traded in my Ball & Chain
No, that is NOT bad luck
You can find me by the ocean
Sleeping in my truck

I traded in my Ball & Chain
now I'm trudging through the sand
with my waders and my tackle box
but not my wedding band

I traded in my Ball & Chain
and in exchange I got my wish
to persue what brings me happiness
To constantly catch fish

I traded in my Ball & Chain
and some might be impressed
But I ask you, fellow fishermen
Why am I depressed?
