I just joined...

the Vega club

should be here next week

I know I said duplicators are for pussies, so i guess Im a puss..

I found one on sale too

My only worry is that it wont fit on my carbatech. It has a 6 inch swing between the center and the bed. would that be a problem?

Should work. I think they fit lathes with a 6 to 10 inch swing. Do yourself a favor and invest in the diamond Vee cutter

Nib i figured if I got this, I could spend more time on the painting. I've got some winners from last season that I made and it seems to me the easiest thing to do is to dupe them instead of painstakingly turn them one by one with calipers. Plus on those Darters, the blank shape is so subtle, I have to do it this way.

Plus now I can chuck my bassmaster plugs right into the template holder instead of cutting them in half (just kidding BM )

This is the cheapest I've seen.

http://store.yahoo.com/toolsplus/veg...cessories.html

The 36" Vega Pro is at least $100 cheaper.

I paid $450 from ToolsPlus 3 years ago for 36" Pro Vega
But, I dont think any other Dup. is worth buying once you've used the Vega.

Wow... thats all i can say. the Vega came today and i had a few minutes to play with it... i didnt have time to make any templates, but stuck one of my swimmer blanks on there, and in about a minute- poof a perfect replica-

I have one question since i have used it now..

do you guys use the tension spring? It seems awkward to me

man i am happy to get one of these

Yes on the tension spring but only light pressure. I like to be able to move the arm manually when turning. Wait till you get the diamond vee cutter, cuts 1/2" a pass if you want
