Sony MVC-73 Digital camera.Paid 300.00 for mine.
They are the only camera that uses a regular floppy disc.Great feature.Makes taking pictures and putting them on the internet a snap.Has a picture compression feature specifically for posting pics on your computer.Very easy to use camera.

I have a Kodak DC215 (OK) after losing my DC3500 (sweet camera)... One place you can try is cnet.com and look up their reviews for various cameras... Getting a decent camera for around 200-250 is very possible. Excellent cameras run 350 into the 1000s... I don't think there are any good digital camera/camcorder options for around $400... You can get a Sony TRV130 (Digital8/SWEET Night Vision/Decent bells & whistles for around 450) and the 330 has a built-in digital camera (600) but only takes shots up to 640x480 which is pretty weak)... But none of combos are really good options...

A few words of wisdom....

....spend the extra cash and get something better than you plan. You'll kick yourself when you see what you can do with one of those and then wish you had bought a better one.

Plus, anyone who has a MAXIMA as a sand sled must have cash....

Bloo. What JohnR said. Cnet.com is an excellent source to do comparison shopping for cameras and other electronic goodies and it will help you find the lowest price. In addition, I suggest getting rechargeable batteries as these muthas eat batteries fast.

The only problem with rechargeables is that some cameras (like mine ) will stop when the rechargeable batteries are down around 60% charge. It's pretty lame but it happens sometimes...

CNET is a good overall review site and often easier to go thru their picks than to go to 10 places and try 4 products at each (certainly a sanity saver)

I like my Sony and the floppy disc's make it a snap to use, upload and share pictures. I've got a spare battery and haven't run out of juice yet, although I'm not exactly Joe Photographer either . It's picture quality isn't too shabby and it's movie mode is ok but not Speilburg quality. It's served me well, but probably not for those that like to fool with all the settings or want high-end picture quality. It's a nice for us idiot types .
