power pro availability

Hmm, I have been heaing about (bulk spools) shortages and delayed shipments of PP. One shop say May 20 the other said JULY?!? I did not know this but the rights to PP are owned by the US Govt which developed it. They get theirs first, then us. I knew Bush liked to fish but he must have a lot of reels to cause a shortage. I was able to procure some though

Power Pro is made of Spectra which is a trademark of Honeywell.

Honeywell is a global corporation.

As far as a shortage on Spectra, I don't think there is, no problems at any rigging lofts as of late on the availability of spectra halyards and lines.

Could just be difficulties at PP/Innovative Textiles.

Can't find anything on Innovative anywhere on the web.

Supposedly PP moved to a larger factory to keep up with demand, and didn't do a real good job of transitioning. The other story is the same material is used for the safety nets in military heli's, and they get the first supplies. Some of the distributors to tackle shops are saying they are getting their deliveries from PP about 3-4 months behind schedule, with only about 70% of the order being filled. Some of the other distributors have a bunch left from last year, or just better ordering practices, and are keeping their shops supplied. I also have a good supply, in bulk as well as 150 and 300 yds.

the suppliers have ample stock. 1500 for 100-120 buck's is acceptable .
