that was a cool show and it really made me want to jump in the truck. its cool seeing your spots from the air, and they even showed a guy catching a bass. ive never walked to the end of the jetty on the east end, scusset side, they said its like 3000 feet. it really is a modern marvel.
I liked it as well. Lots of interesting trivia and facts. I knew there were "older" bridges, but never knew why they were torn down. I knew it was widened, but never really knew the story behind why it was. Lead paint removal explains why they have been painting that damn bridge for about 5 years (or so it seems). I knew there was an "old channel" on the Buzzards Bay side, but I never knew why it was changed.
Other trivia:
Max boat length: 800 and something feet do to the curves in the canal
Current Speed: 5.2 knots
All boats over 60 feet are monitored by the control center.
Tides in Buzzards Bay are 4 feet and in Cape Cod Bay the are 9 feet
The rail road bridge was the longest fixed span bridge of it's type at the time.
