Because there are places where a north wind can provide opportunities.
Stand on a rock, put your nose into the wind and cast

Any wind can be good....depending on the location. I have SW, NW, NE and S wind spots. I've been out of town for a week but from the reports I have been getting there's a lot of weed on SoCo shore. Bill's right a N wind will clean this up quickly.
