I'm testing out some new things and ideas for this message board and for the whole site. I'm looking for recommendations or suggestions from you all. What you would like to see, what I can improve on the site itself.... Any articles you might like to add and such...

Got Stripers, pretty sweet. I've haven't had much luck on big fish so far this year. Lost a potentially nice one down in Rhody a few weeks back. I had equipment failure (I forgot to tighten down my drag) and never got a solid set on her.

Havin' lots of fun though. Anyways, its nice to see they're out there. Lots of season left... still got time to do some serious damage!

I would love to send a picture in of a fish that I caught from a suggestion of technigue or location that I got from this site. John, lets hope that drift off of b-bouy pays off. I know steve from mass has a nice fresh frozen chum ball that would look great dangling off the back of my boat.

John, if the FLY GUYS are interested Ill be glade to send you in 1.pic of a fly monthly to put up/recipe to get you started. just ask

First off, my compliments on just plain putting in the time to HAVE a site...I know the work involved, and my hat is off to you. It is really a gift to the fishing community...perhaps some day you will turn a buck if that is your intention, but initially it is a labor of love. So thanks for the hard work.

One thing that comes to mind is the home screen.....I must scroll left and right to see it all, and I find the layout a little confusing...any plans to change this?

I like not having to use a password...usually the assigned ones are cryptic as hell, and tough to remember. I hope you can keep it this way for a long time...

I like the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&'s Corner, too....many "ask the experts" columns are a bit too polished for me....I like the fact the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& is the real deal...hard core guy who likes to fish nights, alone, with snakes...right on..

I hope you keep "pluggin' away" on this board...good luck..

Thanks Bob, if you go to help at the top of the page, it shows how to put an image in. Similar but not the same as html or other board systems....

Thanks #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&. Even thou Bob Thomas found a way to post the pic, I knew the cow hunters on the board would appreciate the 52 lber. Got her back in 1987, during the glory days. I say that because we had about 3 years in a row, when there were so many poggies in the area harbors you could walk across them. Got a 55 the following year in almost the same spot, same tide and yes you guessed it same bait, live poggie. Interesting story behind that 52, which you will no doubt appreciate. Don't know if you know the area, but in the inner Hingham harbor there's a winding channel that works it's way out by the Hingham Yacht club. As I hit the rotary at 3A I could see the entire channel was white water with blitzing fish. Youv'e never seen a boat launched so fast, lol. I skipped setting the gill net since the poggies were so thick snagging them was going to be easy and I really wanted to get a bait in the water.

After numerous big blues and a few smaller 25-30 inch bass, I picked up my small 6 foot medium Penn spinning rod, matched with a small Penn reel and 12# mono, which I had been using to snag the poggies. I was using a weighted snag hook with the barbs filed down to reduce the damage to the poggies. Snagged a fresh bait and while reeling it in, the line when slack. Figured the poggie had come off and made another long sweep of the rod to snag another. Well no poggie, but a good hard hookset on that 52, who had taken that 1st poggie. The first run was a long one, especially since I had the drag set light for 12# mono. I lucked out when the fish stopped about 10 feet before going into the moored boats. Then she did something I've never seen a big striper do before or since, she came out of the water just like a largemouth and trasher her head back and forth. Man you talk about addrenaline, a large one with 1/3 of her body out of the water like that, I almost died knowing the tackle I had her on. One hell of a fight, something I will never forget.

When I think about those couple 50's, a blitz of upper 40's I ran into a few years later, plus all the other large I've landed, I can't help but come up with a different conclusion to your own; granted this is based on my personal experience and records. The majority of my large fish have come <b><font color="red"><font size="4">DURING THE DAY</b></font><!--color--></font><!--4-->.
