Dogfish in the river?

Fished the entrance to the Westport River Satruday evening and to my surprize we were catching dogfish.

I did not realize they would be in this area. Some blues mixed in. All after dark on chunks.

Is this typical? Hope not, they are a pain.

Clear evening, nice temps and shooting stars. Perfect evening except the dogs.

WJ I have been fishing the islands most of the summer and doing very good but Sunday night I did not feel like making the run over so I fished Westport to Dumpling Rock Datrmouth and got dogs all the way. Even got dogs at Allens pond with the water moving out fast Did get a few small bass but its back to the islands for me.
