Grizzly man
Last night on discovery channel...anybody watch it?
A person with a mental illness uses bears as his escape and the bears eat him alive and his girl freind too. But what gets me in the 3 hours, 2hrs his documentary and 1 hr of his freinds talkin about him.... they justify his acts, which are totally off the wall, with love and protection for bears and him wanting to become a bear....a religiouse experience they said. I'm not a doctor but I recognise a person living with bi-polar when I see one. He showed all the signs of bi-polar yet after lots interveiws they never mentioned it. Whats up with that? Do they think they could grab a bigger audiance by not saying he was mentally ill. Instead his freinds(nutts too) saying hunters kill animals to take their aggressions out.....they could have said poachers. IMO the whole show was misdirected proably to make money and make them wacho's happy by giving the grizzly man the publisity he so wanted.
It airs again sunday night at 8...now what freakin timing huh? all the looser non-sporting peta *&^%$ heads will be playing with them Shellfs watching the grizzly man.
When is someone going to do something crazy for the cause of man.

at first I watched out of curiosity, then I kept watching because I couldnt believe someone would WANT to get that close to something that could kill you with one swift move. Then I had to change the channel because I couldnt stand to watch another minute of it.......he did the bears no favors......

They didn't have tape but had audio but didn't play it, because his girl freinds dignity, family didn't want any part of it. After opening the bear they took away 4 garbage bags of people and clothes.

Bear guy
Did they go into the fact that the guy was a drug addicted fool that had an epiphany after an arrest/incarceration and went north to get his head straight. He fell in love with the grizzlies and stayed.........then paid for that mistake. I didn't watch the show but had read quite a bit about the fool before this show.
It was kind of like the kid a few years ago who left his family and moved to Alaska to live a winter in the wilds. He didn't make it just a few months before he froze to death.

I kind of liked the show. In the end they did exaclty what he didn't want to happen to his bears. Killed the bear because it had attacked him. He was an addictive person and that is why they said he kept going back. 14 summers or more. It was amazing to see him just yell at a curious 1200 pound bear and that bear would move away and not harm him. It just seems like he pushed his luck a little.
I think his story could have been great but the way he was dipicted by the narator kind of ruined it. Just the fotage alone was incrediable but I didn't like his cocky demeaner. In the end that is what killed him.

Also check out the guy I would vote the Next most likely to get eaten alive.
This one likes to "get close" to the Lions(a Pride WITH cubs yet ). He practiced in a zoo by studying their body language with another expert, and then graduated to approaching them in the wild . He literally sits down within about 5-10 yards WHILE they are feasting on a waterbuffalo carcass & then also while they are digesting the meal after. Supposedly this has never been done by another human before.
He talks to them "big lion, big big lion" as hes doing it & walks backwards towards them.
Its absolutely insane. I have to see that one again.

oh there was a guy in that movie ? nice scenery ! makes me want to live there . I do thinkl they could have shown more of the salmon run . and less of howdy doody wishing he was bear scat . they removed him from the bear before that could happen .
at first I thought i was watching dumb and dumber with that very lame dutch boy haircut . after 2 minutes I knew I was watching dumb and dumber on acid . I was close to a few grizzly last July and let me tell you those bears smell something terrible . the worst thing was his girlfriend dying .......... because of him and his stupidity .
