There are sandbars out there. There are those that go out perpendicular to the beach and there are those that run paralell to the beach about 50 yards out.

The ones perpendicular are easy to find at low tide. the ones running parralell can be spotted by the way the waves break and then confirmed with a jig dragged across them.

They are great places to fish. Sometimes on the bar and sometimes ajacent to the bar.

There are 3 huge bars at deep hole and one at carpenter's. There is usually a bar running paralell to the shore at Fresh Pond Rocks. there are many others. You got to go scouting.

Cool

you know SB, i dont feel comfortable pulling a fish up onto the rocks. i thought the weather played a scheme in making sanbars. i do go to cape, but some years the sandbars are not there. i have been scouting south county ,but this is fairly new territory for me. thanks for the info everybody maybe i will extend my search a little more.

Just joking about the rocks. I know what you mean- it can be intimidating fishing breachways and huge boulders. The mouth of Narrow river is a sand breachway. Also the beaches next to these breachways and boulders can be very productive on any given night/morning. I take my son out on Charlestown beach at dusk in Aug and Sept and we hook up on a regular basis right on the beach.
