With the weather going bad I got a few more conversions.
this fly was a development of COLONEL WHITE the augmented patten was dressed about 1925 on instructions of Mrs.G.D.B.Bonbright, president of the Seaboard Airlines Railway. to Mr.Steward Slosson,a fly dresser from Abercrombie andFitch co.Mr. Bonbright used the fly for TARPON fishing in florida and made it famous due to the Large numbers of tarpon an outher salt water fish taken with it. he preferred 4/0 hooks for tarpon an isisted that the heads be soaked in DuPont cement and lacqured.
The Bonbright streamer, which had it's genesis as one of Maine's eariest landlocked salmon flies,was readapted to Maine by Mr.L. Dana Chapman a tackle dealer of Boston, who gave the fly to Percy Tackle Co. who renamed it Dana. it also has beencaled Ross Mckenny. an now in summer of 2006 Ihave converted it to a FLATWING for STRIPER fishing in New England waters.
