where has the big fish gone>

lots of small fish again on the incoming tide. location, on shore just north of the buzzards bay tower. One more evening of nothing larger then a small keeper. This spot, historically always had large fish, any answers?

They are out there. Not sure about your exact spot but there are some bigger fish out there between Rhody and Boston (working both sides of the Cape, of course). We have not heard much in the way of monster bass coming from anywhere but some fish into the high twenties/low thirties (pounds)... I know the Ditch has been very particular with decent amounts of small fish with the occasional nice bass...

RE:where has the big fish gone>

I managed to find a nice big bass this past weekend at Hardings Ledge outside of Boston Harbor. I was anchored up at around 2:30 am fishing with live eels when the fish took the eel for a ride. It worked out well because he ran for the deeper water and it took most of the rocks out of the picture. The fish weighed in at 46 LBS. I had a friend from Bermuda with me that has never seen a striped Bass before. Not a bad fish to see for your first time striper fishing, I just hope he doesn't expect it everytime he comes up.

Nice fish Dave, 'cept how come we never get them like that when I'm on the boat? No - it's not because I'm bad luck! <img src="/Images/Wink.gif"><!--e3-->

John R - Unfortunatly I didn't bring a camera, I usually have a disposable camera on the boat but I forgot that I used up the last picture. " that'll teach me. My friend he ended up taking some fillets back to bermuda with him, that should be a different menu for them down there. I asked a Bermudian charter captain friend of mine the other day about striped bass in bermuda. he told me that there has never heard of one being caught down there. that's funny that all the stripers in south carolina and they never managed to head east 600 miles. gotta love our cold water !!
