Bunker Chum

Big Bunker have arrived on the North Shore. They are in the local river so thick that they are being snagged on Storm Shads. Plenty of rather small schoolies around but my question is should there not be some cows about? Also, picked up a small electric grinder this spring and wanna make some bunker-chum. Any good recipes for a pogie-based-cow-attracting-potion?

Thanx

Grind it up and get some menhaden oil and add it in there. Also put some oatmeal in there too, the flakes will absorb oil and float around like little tasty flakes of flavor. If you grind it fine, put it in a plastic bag and freeze it.Then get some lobster bait bags and put the frozen "chum log" in it . When you fish ,slit the plastic bag and lower the mesh bag with a rope into the water or place it near you from shore, where the wash will time release the mix. Do this with the wind at your back and you will get a nice slick extending a mile out from you.
You can also chop it up into small pieces, but not a paste ,and toss out a handfull every 15 mins or so. Keep an eye on the current so you know where the chum is going and FISH IN THE CHUM! So many guys chum the hell out of an area right in front of them and the current will carry it to the side and they will cast as far out as they can , while they fish are happily feeding at their feet or right next to them.
