block was slow. I fished as hard as i could while trying to be a good dad and be awake at 7 am so my trips were from 8 till 1 am.. the bait de jour out there was juvenile sand eels and the bass wanted nothing to do with wood, live eels or the black salty. The highlight was hooking a 30 lber right under a dock light in new harbor and battling it for a few seconds only to watch the cow wrap my leader around the piling i was leaning against and snap me off before i could reel in the slack. That bass hit one of my bubblegum surfhog eels.... besides that fish, i could get any to bite them. The black salty was a huge disappointment- i floated one under a balloon out about 300 yards to some boiling fish for zip and also dropped a few under the dock lights where the 30 lbers were hiding... they wanted nothing to do with them.

so thats the story.... had a good time, and had fun with the family... thats whats more important

from what i heard on the island, everyone was doing nada...zip zilch.
