No Large Fish

I am wondering why there are no large fish, from around the Cape to the
No. Shore of Mass. the only thing I see is fish from 12 to 27.5 inches and
nothing else being caught. anyone have any ideas?

I had 5 fish over 40" in the Canal last week. Then on Thursday they were gone.

Big Fish

Bob -

There have been some nice fish taken on Joppa at night a week or two ago and a few other nice fish here and there ... but probably the biggest reason that I can think of is the lack of bait to hold them. We did not get and do not have big schools of bait -- large or small -- in the inshore waters to keep the bigger fish around. Also, another theory is the pogies are staying south and the big fish do not have a reason to move either.

it is almost the same here for me Bob on the S.S....while I have probaly caught more fish this season so far the majority have been small....but I have still been hooking fish from 36"+...just not many...and I dropped a slob the other nite, biggest fish Ive had on this year .....my guess is the fish are with the bait, plain and simple
Im hoping for a fantacular fall run

it definetly seems hit or miss for people. one person has hit big while the next can't buy a fish.
in general people had a good spring it sounds like.

consider the time of year it is now, water temp, whats around etc.
imho i think water temp around here has alot to do with it these past couple weeks. the temp changes dramatically from day to day. so much so that i swear my transducer is f'd. 59F one day 68F three days later?? hard to stay consistant with that big of a difference.

its all a guessing game anyway, with a few hints of clarity.
