Uninterested Fish?

Saw about an hour of breaking stripers chasing down wee bait fish right at our feet, off a pier. About a dozen of us tried many ways from chunk to lures and not even a glance. What gives, not enough of a match the hatch deal? Is that the way it goes sometimes? Any thoughts welcome.

SOmetimes you just can't get them to hit if they are focused on something. Some nights whne they do that I just pack up and leave...

Chum with bait and throw a couple chunks into the slick.

Teasers will work as well as sinking(let them sink and work them to the top) .5 and 1 oz. poppers. Hab's seem to work well for me.

This does work!!! but don't throw when the blues are around... 1 section make another section without a bucktail hook too... 3/0 siwash fits just nice...

Try a 5" redfin, the jointed one. Throw it out there and just let it sit..twitch it every now and then.
Annother plug that works in those situations is the smallest creek chub popper in pearl white.
