Question A Question for those with more experience

I know that the bass are still on herring and that is the basis of my question. Some indicate that eels are good in May and others indicate that you need to wait till after the bass stop feeding on herring. Will eels still give up fish this early? What is your experience?

I don't know about everybody else, but I can't get a fish on eels when herring are in.
Then again my tehnique may suck, so you may want to ask somebody else.
Later,
Rick

I am gonna try herring at a couple choice locations where the big bass may be hiding but if it doesn't produce the LARGE i'm looking for i'm going to switch to eels before the herring leaves. If your gonna catch a big fish 30lbs and over i figure eels will outproduce the herring but if you want a very productive night with decent sized bass bring the herring. Herring will out fish the eels but i think the eels will make the LARGE bite.

eels work but its not as productive but... you will have a better chance with a LARGE bass with eels.

I have caught tons of decent fish this season but nothing that makes you say WOW. Eels may be my ticket...

Eeels have taken some fish on the outer cape beaches, I don't see why they would not work in RI now.
