Dumbest thing you've been asked when fishing?

This was the best of the year for me from my friends girlfriend.

"since we didn't use that bait, can we thaw them out and let them swim free"

This was as we were leaving the parking lot after the MS Tourney in RI. She still hasn't heard the end of it...

Its gotta be the Classic "Whatcha Doin, Fishin?" as you stand there at the water with a rod in your hand.

"Are you going to keep it?" as the fish is swimming away. (Of course,... I have them trained to swim back after rinsing themselves off)

I posted this a couple of years ago. 2:00AM. Black Point. 100 yards out on the reef and a RI DEM officer is shining a spotlight on me and asking me what I am doing. I got a 10" rod in my hand, a surf bag, waders and a splash top on.

I told him I was trying to build a row boat.

No boat, back in the suds.

cute or not
come on does she think steak thaws out and produces milk . or the thawed chicken laying eggs . wait I read that in ripleys must be true .

I have heard everyone of those a number of times and to think these people breed .

" arent the fish sick in that river " I catch them to wipe their noses for them then release them . I know they meant that its a polluted river but I let them know that most rivers are polluted and that I dont eat them .

Regardless of how dumb the question I always try to answer them as if it was the most important question of the day. It makes them feel good and I know I have done a good deed. But there are some stupid friekin questions out there.

Another great one was when we were unloading fish at the fish pier in chatham out of a 42' gill-netter and a guy yells down from the observation deck "so where are the outboard motors on that boat"

Having someone ask you for change while your in full gear out 50yds...

Being in a boat achored and having another boat come by with the crew asking if this is a good spot...

Having been asked what type of lure you are using and you reply a "Habs Needlefish" and they ask if they are native to the area...

Is that a popper, "Yes i reply," thinking to myself wow someone who has a clue... What kind of popper is that.. I said a Super Strike Swimming popper.... Now you get that dumb look.. and... How can a popper be a swimmer?...

and the #1 Dumbest thing I have ever been asked while fishing is.....
Do you have any "extra" of those lures i can have?

Talking

One time while fishing Pier 5 in Narragansett, I caught a 41lb bass, several people were around me while I was reeling it in, when I got it in, a young women with hardly anything on pushed her way through the crowd and said mister are you going to mount that fish, I said no, I will give it a kiss and let it go.

"Fish bite at night?"

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

My GF was mad at me because I'm either at work or fishing down on the Cape. She gave me an ultimative and I promised I'd try to dedicate more time to her. In a moment of weakness I felt bad and brought her out to a romantic dinner. We were seated on the restaurants deck overlooking a lake in central Massachusetts. Mind you, we were at least 30 miles from the closest salt water. All of a sudden she asks me "When does the tide come in?" At that point I ordered two more drinks and knew the relationship was over.

you should have looked at your watch and said " right now " got up and left her there ( with the bill ) . If she takes your call afterward you know she is a keeper although not the sharpest tack in the box .

When I was in australia, a girl that flew down for a bit asked if "since we are on the other side of the equator, does the sun rise in the west?" She was a redhead... The daughter of a supreme court judge...
