Here we go. I rubbed
dry line on an angle over a
dry brick, trying to not rub on the sharp edge so as to test the
abbrasion resistance and not the
cutting resistance. I tried each line 3 to 4 times to try to get an average. When I had a number significantly inconsistent with the other results I disregarded that attempt. (For example, the Stren Braid was inconclusive b/c on 3 tests it averaged 3 scrapes and on 2 other rubs it averaged 30 rubs- these widespread results were significantly different than the results on the other lines).
Only a small area ofl line "1-2 inches" was consistently rubbed/scrapped. Soon, I'll be posting the results for some other tests and I plan to wet the line on at least one test. In summary, I found the monos to be significantly more abbrasion resistant than the braids, but I'll let you make your own conclusions:
