The unicorn

I designed this plug with the mind to appeal to all the senses that a fish posses....

I call it the unicorn due to its lons sloped nose and the pull eye mounted in the tradition of the early CCBCO swimmers...

The body is 12" long and weighs 3 1/2 ounces, it is progressivly turned offcenter from front to rear giving it a realistic eel like shape, it is then off center drilled and fitted with a pikie #2 lip,the head is cut on a 20 degree slope, this "plane" stabilizes the side to side movemens while allowing a eelike swimming motion along the surface, the body has a cut for an eel skin a little over 2" back from the nose, both body portions are fitted with rattles to appeal to a fishes sense of "hearing" the fins on the side sport tiny strips of foam undernieth the bucktail, this is for my favorite liqiid attractant to appeal to the sense of smell... the top "horn" is cemented in place with marine grade 2 part epoxy, and serves as a line pull and to secure the metal swim lip... when used in the "unicorn" posistion, it swims simular to a darter and dives 4-6' depending on the speed of retrieve....

WOW nice stuff there Rockfish

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

It looks and swims sweet... disapears in the muddy water though...

took a few tries to get the "pecs" to float where I wanted them, I twist some small diameter 304 around a #0 phillips to make my teasers and fins,I wanted them to lay at the side of the bait in a natural posistion, not floating up or hanging down, by adding foam they floated up, so by trial and error, a few wraps of electrical solder I found the right combo.. so now every length of wire gets measured, all sloder gets measured , I measure the foam and try to pinch the same amount of bucktail... it took a dozen attempts to get it right.. but I have the formula now... I've made 4 and they all look and swim great, at rest the "fins" stand out to the side, as the plug swims, they lay along the body and wiggle back and forth.....probably dont mean squat but was cool to figure out....

idea. I like how you tapered the tail section with the off-center. Now show us one of those in a month or so hanging out of the mouth of a monster striper
