livelining pogies

I was troling with live pogies and didnt know what size hook to use does anyone know what size works well. 7/0 or larger or smaller??
any input would be appreciated. And were to hook them in the lip or in the back ???

A 2/0- 3/0 treble though the nostrils is deadly, maybe too much so... If you use them hit the fish immediately. A large circle or 7/0 Gami live bait J hook can be used but it's wiser to wait for the bass to stop, then begin her second run before setting up (or coming tight with a circle hook). I've toyed with the idea of using nylon cable ties to secure the single J hooks (through eye sockets), but haven't tried it yet- I think it would keep a single hook from burying back into bait though... If you wait with trebles you will gut hook and kill alot of fish, please don't do that. I think the circles are better suited to livelining than trolling- IMO. I have to eyeball cicles as their sizes seem to vary alot...

3/0 trebles thru the nose seems to work best for me.

No boat, back in the suds.
