EYE COLORS?

What determines what color eyes you use in a plug?

With me....its just personal preference! The holographic eyes are good on most plugs! Depends on the colors of the plug sometimes for esthetic reasons, sometimes based on size of plug! Posted a few examples!

I like red eyes with yellow or black plugs. Most everything else gets Holographic or a natural looking eye. Once in a while I'll do chartreuse eyes on yello or green.

the only thing I would add to BBjake's post is, I sometimes use blue eyes on black and purple needles, otherwise pretty much what he said

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

personal prefference ,,, sometimes for the fish .. I like to dot my eyes ,,adds more .. Have done well with glow in the dark eyes at night , Purple dot on olive .. glass on vintage type plugs .. using alot of plastic animal eyes .. not as much holigraphic anymore .. don't forget false eyes .. that gibbs pogey polaris ,,,silver side with the black false eye was a fish magnet .. Alot of surface lures with eyes to lure fisherman I think .. works on me anyway .

Painting on eyes is a pain in the ass but looks nice, I use plastic eyes, glass eyes, have some vintage German glass eyes like Creek Chub used. I use holographic eyes as well. I do have a rule of thunmb for eyes when I am making a plug I will fish myself and that is plugs that travel below the surface get eyes and plugs that stay on or just out of the surface of the water don't get any.

Needlefish always should have eyes, sometimes big ones work better on them than small ones and always highlight them.

Why even try.........

Usually just contrast the color of the plug with the eye. Ex. yellow/ green, black/ red.
