Today I went to get a haircut in Hanson, Mass. at Don's Barber shop. As usual Don had his families most recent fishing pictures laying next to the cash register. In one his son Andy was holding up a striper that had a forehead much the same as a dolphin and it had two dorsal fins. This is absolute fact. The fish was trolled up close to shore in Ct. The rocks were only 300' that I could see in the picture. Unique, yes.

I caught a bottlenosed Striper about 3 years ago on a charter. Captain had never seen one before....it actually looked more like a combination of a striper and bluefish. Weird.

Hey All,
The swollen forehead thing on a Striped Bass is commonly known as "Pugnosed"...It is not a pollution caused deformity as many will tell you but a genetic defect that happens rarely. More have been caught in the last few years as the larger year classes have arrived at our shores. At last years MV Derby I saw three pug nosed SB abd one pugnosed Bluefish.
that's my 2 cents
