15 Lb Albacore taken in canal

Doug Baker took a 15 lb Albacore while fishing the west end of the canal friday morning using 30 lb fin's line with a Gibbs 2-3/4 oz pogie colored polaris popper

I went tonight got one 10.8lb on an eel. East end, around 930

There goes the school of thought that anything over 12lb test is too much for these fish.

Bill - that's great, an Albie on an eel? Yowza!


FS - I use 15# big game green - no prob. And the first one I ever got was on 50# mono leader when I was fishing for bass or blues. Light line should be better and might make the difference but it can still happen on heavier lines.... I', also pretty sure that thr FinS 30# line has a 10 pound or so diameter....
