Abu 7000cl problem

So awhile back I changed my drag washers. When I put the reel back together, the antireverse did not work. Specifically, I could reel forward and backward. Took it apart again, fiddled, never got it straight. Was gonna send it out and didn't now I want to use it. I think the problem is related to the little goldish piece labled 13372 in the schematic. It seems that it would fit on either side of the gear, preventing the gear from going backwards. I think when I put it back together, I didn't have it in properly and bent the sides of 13372 together. When I tried agian, I straightend the sides out and fit the piece around the gear. However, when I put it together that way the reel didn't seem right. When it is not around the gear, the handle spins in reverse. Anyone have any idea how the piece is supposed to fit and how to solve this? Thanks

Zimmy:

I think your correct. Make sure the gear goes between the dogear (13372). It sort of has 2 sides/ears and the gear fits snug in between.

That should do it.

Thats what I thought. I'll have to check it again tonight. I think when I did that it was really hard to crank. I'll see what happens. At least I know I am on the right track. Thanks.

zimmy, should look like this.
The anti-reverse dog sits on the pin and the gear is positioned between the 2 thin ears of the dog. Hope that makes sense.

here's a pic...
