If you haven't read it, or even if you have, there is a section in David DiBenedetto's On The Run where he fishes the fall run in Rhode Island with John. It's a neat reminder of what kind of guy John was; it covers him getting into the plug business and the whole "plug ho" stuff.
Definitely worth a look at the least, and even better a purchase since the book is a good luck at the fall run down the east coast.

Kind of wish I got to do that again with John.So many more questions come to mind now that I realized we lost him forever.I wasn't that close to him and I am stunned,I can only imagine the pain his family and closest friends are going through.
One good thing....he left a legacy of fine craftsmanship,innovation and warm feeling amongst his fellow man
