Four Acres of Peanuts

Heard the strangest sound standing by Trim's Pond about 17:00 yesterday, like a cross between rain on the water and millions of little kissing sounds. Looked closely and realized that the pond was solid peanut bunker feeding on the surface. Took my kid up to Dunn's Bridge between Trim's and Harbor Pond and they stretched as far as you could see in both directions. I figure at least four acres of solid fish breaking silver in the afternoon light. No predators visible except sennets.

Nice to see that the population is trying to hold it's own. Forget catching a fish with that much bait around though. (Not to mention a ton of squid, sand eels, etc.) Guess that means the fish will hang around for a while.
