Tattoo's Danny??????
Mike, when is this going to become readily available? Sweet looking little plug! 4.75" long, 1.25 ounces.

Russ has the freshwater version of this lure available on his ebay store currently.
The saltwater version of this lure ( same components, different hook configuration ) will be available in 2008.
If your really in need of one, you could take the freshwater hooks of and replace them with saltwater ones, or if your really daring, just keep the freshwater hooks on and loosen the drag.

Remember that Gibbs owns the "Danny" name and is a registered trademark of thiers ( one of the very few they own).
That is a most beautiful plug though and hope to see it available around Cape Cod.

Why even try.........

They own the way the word is written if I am reading this right. Not the word itself.

The above post was copied from a thread in the sponsors special section. I don't know why the attachment didn't come through. Then again I am a neanderthal when it comes to computers.

Flap, the only person mentioning the word Danny in the thread was T. Lapinski and he added 6 question marks , so unless you are stating Gibbs owns the name for some other reason, I don't see how it applies to this thread but thanks for the reminder, since I took the time to click the link and clearly Tattoo calls that plug a swimmer. I hope we can still use the word Danny in our posts here on the internet, especially since my sons' name is Danny
you like my run-on sentence?

How do you register a name like "Danny" in relation to a particular product? And with whom?

Mike, it looks great. Similar size to an old Pichney "Daniel" plug I have. Can't wait to get my hands on a few.

That is a very pretty plug, but it is not likely to swim the same as a Pichney Danny. Note how high the line tie is, which explains why the lip is bent so vertically (otherwise the plug will dive). The tail is also thick (and therefore bouyant). I suspect it will roll more than a small danny at all but the slowest retrieve speeds (maybe the reason for the subtle coloring?). Then again, at slow speeds it probably will start swimming before a danny would. I don't own many Tattoo plugs, but his reputation is top notch so I suspect this plug will fish very well inspite of (and possibly because of) the differences.

The lip also looks like a thicker gauge metal.

If you look at this
Lupo Tackle Inc. owned the "font" only from 7/20/76 thru 12/14/82
so this would indicate that the current owner own nothing that pertains to the word danny

A couple quick shots of my pichney I just took. I have never been able to bring myself to fish it, though.

Tell him to cut his lip slot deeper . If the lip slot is not deep enough or the lip is bent past 90 ..that happens .. You crank arse loop tight hoping it pulls it in but it never does .. thats the way I was taught . being hyper critical.. sorry not in plug building forum ..
