Gibbs 3 oz DANNY

Noticed a lip change in the fancy pro type 3oz danny's.Someone else I talked to on this said they did the same thing on the sub-standard model also.
They changed it out to a pikie type lip..
Whats up with that.
Anyone???

They are going back to the original lip type. They ( When Jim Grieci owned the firm) stopped putting ther traditional swimming lip, which was somewhere between a Atom 40/Capn' Bill LIP and started putting danny lips on the GTS -3 series trolling swimmer, which just wasn't the right application so Gibbs is going back to the way Stan had them rigged.

Now on the large Danny plugs Gibbs used the lip type that Lupo put on thier large Danny's which was a blown up version of the medium and small danny lips. Actually if you look at a large Beachmaster vintage Danny or a vintage Pichney for that matter, they did not have a danny style lip but a Atom 40 type complete with rolled up sides.

I made a couple large Danny's last year with this type of lip based on examples from Numbskulls collection and they swim better than with a danny style lip. This only applies to the large 3oz plug.
