My dad was a chronic horn beeper,, Liked Lawrence Welk ,, heavy drinker,, (killed him) and liked to box my ears .. I never heard my father say a racist word ever about anybody . No harsh words against any race , religon, or nationality .. That was a rare thing in those days . Probably why I cringe at hearing the N word today .
sorry ... I know the flick .. thought we were doing a my fathers thing ... please disregard all the stuff I made up ...

Ya, Holy smokes it was the way life was back then. The very best of times and the greatset fun a kid could ever have gowing up.
We had nothing but everything.
The movie ended with Ralphy getting the "red ryder BB gun"
he had always wanted for Christmas ,and the family eating Christmas dinner out as a family.
The rest, the story of my life, i guess ya had to be there.

In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obscenity, that as far as we know, is still hanging in space over lake Michigan.
He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny!

Yeah, we watched ti 1 and a half times on dvr last night.
I actually believe that Schwartz's mom is the voice of Kyle's Mom on South Park.
"It was the only place in the house that a nine year old boy could be at peace."
I like the Randy laid there like a slug quote, too.

Don't know about anyone else but when my mom gave me the soap treatment she used Ivory soap and made sure she scraped it on your teeth . I think Ralphie got off easy , I'd be tasting soap for some time afterward.
