Mackeral around boston?

hey guys this coming season when will mackeral begin to appear in the boston area? also where are good places to find them as well as with what lures/rigs? any and all info would be greatly appreciated

Sometime in April - ..........from the piers...you gotta be there when they're there. If ya lucky you can chum them to hang around a little while, but they're constantly on the move. If from a boat, just follow the 6 green/horns driving the 16 footer around the bay - they always find them.

As far as tackle, Mike from Cape Cod Tackle in Wareham who just happens to be a sponsor for this site, can provide you with the proper line-test Sabiki rigs which you can weight down with either some point jude tins or plain ol' lead so you get hung up less...or tie your own like I used to do -
