Hardest day at work in a long time, today.

Yesterday about 4 p.m. a guy I have worked with and have been friends with for over 18 years dropped dead at home of a heart attack. Its the first time in my 57 years that type of news actually affected me. And I have seen many dead people, and had people die in front of me at crashes. His name was Gerry Mont, and he was 48 years old. I new I liked him "a lot" (two words I hate used this way), but I didn't fully realize just how much until after he was gone.

Today sitting on the desk after getting through the initial walking into work the phone started ringing. All the well-wishers called from town and area departments. It was the hardest day I think I ever had to get through.

Had to say something.......thanks for letting me say it here.

Frank - sorry to hear of your friends passing. The good ones hurt the most.

Find a way you and your friend would celebrate something good - and go do it in his honor.

(unless that was giving out random speeding tickets - in which case disregard what I said)

Unhappy very sad to hear

Frank i am truly sorry for your loss of a good friend...

i can relate to what your saying about not realizing how

much this man meant to you down deep... and how

you didn't comprehend how much you valued the friendship

until he was gone..... naturally you assumed

there was plenty of time left to enjoy each other's company.

All i can say is..... think about the many good times you

once had.... remember him often ! and talk to the sky on

occasion as if he can hear you.... as it helps ease the pain.

my condolences.

Sorry to hear it. Kingston lost one of theirs last week at 48 also. Way too young.

Thoughts and Prayers to his family and friends,

My wife told me about this last night. My son was at a friends on his street the day of his passing and heard the emergency vehicles heading to his house.
Mr. Mont was Veteran, Policeman and active community volunteer, you can't live a more honorable life than that.

May he rest in peace.

Frank, sorry for your loss of your fellow officer. I read about him and he sounded like a hell of a nice guy.
