Well said.

I have the great fortune to be able to speak with combat veterans of WWII on occasion at work.

Most recently while speaking with a one of these vets (D-Day to Bastogne) I relayed an insignificant story to him in which he paused and replied

"I only brought 2 things home with me.
When we liberated Buchenwauld I went into where they burned the bodies. When the Germans were done they took the ashes and pressed them into squares and put a number on it.
I took two squares".(giving me a look as if to say I have no idea why I did) He then disjointedly went on to describe what the GI's thought were hay mounds as they approached the camp... They werent hay they were f&%ng bodies...naked...tears

His dimeaner completely changed, he said these F&%NG people today dont know how good they got it, complain about everything, I dont care if gas goes to 5(explative) bucks...

I thought it was great,,, Last month my Dad finally got his bronze star for service in Vietnam,,, my whole life he never said a word and never asked for anything,,, I know there are many people like that and even more who gave everything so we can live the way we do,,,, Make sure you thank your servicemen and women. They deserve it.

God Bless them and their families
