BULLY!

Finally got a nice bull.

had another great 2 day adventure on the edge. A slower pick of fish than last time but got some nice yellows and longfin albi's and picked away at dolphin on the flats. Only once did we have that rapid fire of multiple yellows attacking the spread at the same time...and then they were gone. Hope to go again in August if it works out.

mahi mahi- I heard they lose that color soon after they are out of the water. Is that true?

As soon as they die they turn from green to a pale grey.

The color of this fish during the fight was an intense neon blue. I have never seen anything like it, it truly looked electric. We have a video of it while it was blue. As soon as it got to the boat while still in the water it switched to green as you see in the pic. It turned color like a switch and as soon as it turn you could see it gave up fighting. Bring them in the boat and they go wild. When they die the turn a little grayish but when I cleaned it after being on ice it was still pretty green.
Very cool fish. It is about 2 years old. They grow very fast.

Nice fish Jim! I was lucky enough to catch a 46" 22 lb bull about 15 miles southeast of Mantauck in 04. We dropped a line as soon as it was boated and we caught the 14 lb cow. They often travel in pairs. My experience was exactly as you describe with respect to the colors, color change and how it reacted when it hit the deck, totally mental. Awesonme experience!
