Parker23---retort

Hello all,
Thank you for the kind and not so kind comments. The contents list I originally posted has been revised. I have moved 3 times since getting kicked out of the big-bed in November. After a careful inventory, I updated accordingly.

Gear List:
Ask anyone who has fished on my boat, I carry a ton of gear. All rods were at least 2 piece and some 4 piece flyrods. I rigged some homemade rod racks under the gunwale that stowed all broken down rods. These rods are not visible from topside and can only be viewed when laying on deck. The console on my Parker was pretty big and held a ton of crap. I could have fit several more gear bags and assorted items. I had some work done over the winter on the bottom/engine and the owner of the shop(s) were impressed with the gear storage system I created. They had to charge me extra $$$ because at night the boat needed inside secure storage to protect the boat’s content. All items have been accounted for by receipts, boxes, owners manuals and credit card statements.

Fraud:
I have never committed a fraudulent act in my life. I have been the owner of several RI businesses and treat myself, as I like to be treated (Confucius). I have not collected a red cent from the Federal or State Government for workers comp, unemployment or any other program in my 30 years of my career. I do work very hard, 80+ hours/week during busy times and have my laptop with me at all times.

I have never hired a worker under-the-table. All employees have full health, dental, 401k w/100% matching and employee stock options.

Toys:
Yeah, I got a lot of stuff; most of it is very high end. Buy cheap buy twice is my credo. This event has taught me a lot about myself and my need for excessive gear has changed drastically.

Insurance:
Bigfish, the insurance company released ownership of the hull to me. The motor is with the fishes. They were not interested in owning the hull/trailer. I will be getting a check today for my boat and late next week for it’s contents through my homeowner’s policy.

Insurance Advice:
Get FULL REPLACEMENT VALUE on all of your gear. We do this for my businesses as well. Settlements are instantaneous and the BS is greatly minimized. The premium is about 25% higher, but well worth it in my opinion.
If I had opted for the less expensive coverage, this story would be much different. My boat and motor would have been worth under $20K , leaving me in the hole with a $50,000 difference.

Markel Insurance Co. (http://www.markelamerican.com/Produc...ferred+Marine/) is fantastic. Rates are competitive and the service is far beyond par.

I fished through the lean years and don't want to live through another collapse of the stock.

2 fish @ 28" is ridiculous.

That is a pretty quick turn-around from the insurance company. Good for you. Curious, as a Parker 2510 owner, why did you opt for the 25 SE not the 2501? Art

rather be fishin'

Guys can we please leave this be. I have a feeling this one is going to be locked soon also. I think he explained himself prettywell. A hell of alot more then I would have. Is it a little strange maybe but who the hell are we to judge. Remeber people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. That starts from the day you are born to the day you die. Parker good luck with your new boat and I hope you keep a good eye to the sea and never have to deal with this experience again

new parker

Getting a Parker25se center console, 9'6" beam... I have fished from both the SE and the deep V. I fish very tight. My bottom work would be $3500.00/year instead of $2000.00/year.

Man! the next time some kid debates Noah's Ark with me I'm going to show them that list : )
The main thing is you got to shore alive and you are not on that list of items. I have to be honest though, whenever I see some object floating in on the waves I'm gonna be thinking of that list.

still by the firelight
and purple moonlight
I hear the rusted river's call
