Tease an albie

Fished today finally found the albies , but forgot my fly rod , the bastards wouldnt hit anything ,deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&s ,small minows , every tin I had wasnt working ,fotunately I found a fly in my tackle box then light shines on marble head , so I tied on a teaser to a small tin I had ,and I was nailing them all day .. It worked out pretty good I could get it out there pretty far with the tin ,farther than I would if I was using a fly rod ..

Finally, good for you. I'm curious did you tie the teaser with a dropper loop or stright from the swivel? Thanks

What line rating did you end up using? I've always thought albies were hardware shy but if they went after a fly near a split ring, it sounds like wouldn't care if you canal gear (20# mono and 50# leader) on them :-)

I use 20# lb power pro tied directly to the tin then 25# mono to the fly .I dont use any snap on , I dont want to lose a fish becouse some swival breaks ,I tie directly to the lure . I take out THE weak links ..

You don't use a leader to the tin when fishing for albies?

TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH . the most productive year I had was fishing a polish lure sand eel a yellow ceramic thing that looks like a sand eel . but I lost that this spring , You have to wait untill this fish are breaking ,then throw the lure / teaser into the frenzy and its hook up time . i have a suzuki four stroke which is supper qiut , my buddy used to scream at me for not shuting off the moter when we were in the fish . and they would roll under us like we werent there , still motoring . good luck Moosh...
