Is the access barred just to the light house property?
What about the parking around the former restaurant
just to the north of the light house.?

I heard some rumblings about closing access tot he WW as well. My cousin did a bit of poking around at the town hall when he was denied access by someone who wouldnt let him walk up that access road. He stated his point of view on it and went fishing anyways. That was about a month ago. Is the boating industry lobbying?

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

The Coast Gaurd always closes the gate to the left of the Coast Gaurd Vehicle gate after until b4 light. If you take that left turn up the hill to the abandoned building you can take a walk down the footpath onto some rocks about 15ft from the fence at the far right corner of the parking lot. Be steady and not against a high or strong tide when you do this, but you can follow the wall out to the point. There is a Stay away sign, but that is because the wall is falling apart, so make it quick. Otherwise, pull into Camp Cronin, the first right after the road turns left, the camp cronin sign is gone but there is a small blue sign that indicates the new Fishermans Memorial, dirt road, drive to the ocean, and walk left to the point
