Fshing Cape Ann

Sunday was a great day on the water. There were plenty of live baits to be had and plenty of stripers. You couldn't miss catching striped bass. All sizes were being caught and there were some nice fish taken over 25 pounds using live mackerel. Today is a differant story, a lot of white water and winds at 20-25 knots.

Today is the opening of the commercial fishing for cod & haddock below the 4230 line which approximately starts around Marblehead or what is known as Halfway Rock south to the cape. So that means the end of good cod fishing in that area.

Also today the commercial tuna fishing begins. It is too windy for the harpooners today.
