Thumbs up Another nice article Joe

Another surfcaster featured in this months On the Water mag, he wrote about Steve McKenna.
Nice piece Joe and I learned something too.

Best thing in that article is the part about putting people first rather than fish, something I think we all doo from time to time.

A great read. Joe's who's next?

Scheeze! I haven't even gotten my OTW in yet to read that one! And I FISH with the guy from time to time!!!!

Damn - I might need to go buy the maggie if it isn't in when I get home tonight... Hey Joe - for a nice twist, how about an interview of Tim Coleman next? Very nice & knowlegeable guy, helluva surfcaster, and has done a lot for the sport - should be back from FLA in a couple months.

I haven't got my OTW yet either. Can't wait.

Did I tell you about the time I saw a postal worker thumbing through my copy during his lunch hour? I was picking up a load of "held" mail at the p.o. after a vaca and all my bills and fishing porn were stacked up in a plastic box.

I’ll reserve “thanks” until after everyone gets their copies.
I thought that some stories with a similar format that the late Dr. Post used for Reading The Water, (but not written by the subject, and with the added dimension of the author actually fishing with the guy) would give the reader an inside look as to a talented fisherman’s methods as well as his thinking. (I did not get to fish with Andy Lemar until after the story was submitted, but that’s how I’m going to do them from now on.)
I’ve got two more lined up, but I’m not naming names, and I can’t say when they’ll run. The beauty of the interviews is that every reader, regardless of skill level, can come away with something.
Of course, the insight gained may not always be fishing related.
I’m going to try and post some pictures of Steve that did not run.

John R: You’re right. Tim Coleman would be a good person to look at. However, with all due respect to Tim and other well-known names, the series’ purpose is to focus on those who are not writers or lecturers (or who have only done only a little).
I want to add some new voices to the historical record of our sport.
Thanks - Joe
