loot canal

Holy crap I got a high tolerance for pain but this freakin knocked me on my arse. Frickin tooth never hurt doc says he sees the nerve and it's got to be a root canal and we'll save the rest of the tooth as it's still good.

Ride in this morning was cold. Never felt it all I felt was my jaw bouncing around and I was ready to hit a pole.

I ate chinese noodles for breakfast. Found a mosquito floating in my coffee. Yick throw it out and make a new cup.

loot canal for sure. $1000 plus the post plus the cap.

How long does this last? Do I got to go thru this again for the friggin post too?

I think i'll have a loot canal special

Just went thru it last fall. Cap, then root canal thru the cap 3 months later. Still hurts occasionally, although it does take up to 6 to 8 months to finally heal. PIA for sure. Thank god for insurance as they paid for most of it.

It only hurts when you get hot or cold stuff on the cap. I had four caps down last year.

As my sister (a registered nurse) said, they are one of 2 professions that have you by the b*lls.
Dentist and Optometrist, since you have to see and you have to eat.

Fortunately, you can claim medical and dental expenses on you taxes if you itemize your deductions. You can claim any out of pocket expense over 7.5% of you taxable wages. It not a whole lot, but after dishing out 15 grand for implants last year, it was nice to get something back.

I'm lucky myself Scott. I had to pay just $180 to have my crown glued back on. Insurance pays for it (total time for him actually working is may be 5 mins since the hygienist still does majority of prep stuff). It comes off every few yrs on it's own. Doesn't help that I grind my teeth big time and need to wear a night guard. :P

I started using Oral-B Triumph and best darn thing for my teeth: it works so well that I don't need to floss near as often, but oral hygiene is something worth doing because in the long run will save you a lot of pain and $.

Former neighbor of mine has implants top and bottom thanks to the US Navy. He was in so much pain in the time frame he lived next door to me. I had never seen some one down so much ibuprofen in my life in the course of a day!

Infections in your mouth need to be addressed sooner than later. Too close to your brain so it can kill you that much faster! The pain is a sign that it needs attention pronto. Blowing it off just makes things worse in the long run.

I agree dentist make BIG $$$.

Went through this as well. Wound up just pulling the tooth because it was too painful/annoying... Good luck.

I understood this as being 3 appointments, 1 for the root canal, 1 for the filling and one for the crown.

YA right. LOOT canal. Today was just to open it up and look at it, then ream the tooth out with a 3/4" spade bit

Words can't describe what I really want to say right now

If I spend 15K on implants, those babies better win a wet t-shirt contest or two.

NO $hit!!!!!

YESTERDAY I go in for a cleaning. He starts on the front teeth and I mention b4 that I lost part of the LOOT CANAL temp filling 2 days before. He stops and looks at it and agrees with what I said that it wasnt going to make January when the post was being put in.

Decision is made to put in a metal permanent style filling til January. More novicaine. Frickin A he killed me again with the 7/8" drillbit he uses for the needle. ANOTHER $250 FILLING on top of the $1620 LOOT CANAL. And he tells me the crown is now $1360 plus the post at $500.

I'm starting dental school on Monday I've had enough of this crap lately I can't make the money this fast before these BLOODSUCKERS take it out of my pocket. :c onf::wal l:

Wow I got crushed today. His assistant of 27 years called me today to tell me that he had a massive heart attack and died on 8/7.

You could have knocked me over with a pin. I been going to this guy for 20+ years. Real great guy. Even as much as I liked to complain about the $ etc he was one of the best people you could have ever met and anyone here would have loved to have the guy as a dentist.

Scott, come see my dentist. Great guy, got me up and running after I had big problems. Nice staff. Kind of makes me rather go to him than work, PM me if interested.
