Flexcoat rod epoxy 4 finish?

I was glueing a reel seat on a blank and had some epoxy left. I took a dark cedar A-40 and coated it. I brushed it on then took a heat gun to it. When it dried it was hard as a rock. I didn't even put a tooth mark in it. Has anyone tried or used this epoxy for plug finish?

I've used the flex coat lite that is used for covering rod threads. Works fine. A little expensive. The times I've used it is when I had some left over after doing rod threads.

I stopped uaeing Flexcoat due to how bad it yellows on Rods. Tried it on some spooks a couple yrs ago an they don't show blue over white but are now blue over yellow. Holds up good but I'd only put it over blk.

Just to clarify, it's the rod epoxy for installing reel seats, ferrules, tips not the thread wrapping epoxy.
