Flaptail Contest Pics?
Sorry to say I did not enter mine! (I wanted to keep it). So here are some pics of my Flaptail plug! I was very pleased with it and I owe ProfMoriarty thanks for the Flaptail hanger! Its a "Lido" style Flaptail with a MasterLure style paint job!

Old Heddon Swimmer/Flaptail .. I was really trying to build something that would appeal to Steve . Something he'd pic up and give that look . Had to be plain old basic colors .. Plain old black/gold for Steve ..

I wish I got to see that Larry
looks good to me
sadly I did not get a picture of mine
maybe whoever won it will post a picture
it was a blueback gold scale pearl belly almost styled like a heddon and I used a Professor Moriarty hanger as well, thanks again Paul.
So if anyone has a picture of it , please post it. i forgot my memory card and never took a pic of it.

Here's my attempt. Got to make some more and also some smaller ones for freshwater. I gave this to Patrick for the kids trout day.

Here's mine classic/flaptail, its a reproduction of a Bernie Meyers complete with screw eyes construction and bent wire flaptail hanger. Second picture is some modernized version of these flaptails I plan to fish this year.

I really enjoyed making the flaptails. I didn't know Steve half as well as some of you did, but I couldn't help think of him and his family while I was working on them.
Like angler220 (very nice to meet and chat wtih you) I also took a shot at a Bernie Myers plug. I have always liked the body style and figuered it was a good time to give it a try. I was actually able to get a couple to use as a reference from a nice guy down the road in Shrewsbury. What's interesting is that from what I read and pictures I saw there seemed to be two body styles he made. Of course the guy in Shrewsbury had both! If you look at angler220's plug its dead on to the bottom plug...Mine the top.
First pic is of the two bodies I had. Second is of my attempt.

I wasn't able to make plugfest, hopefully next year. I was inspired to try a couple flaptails by all these sweet plugs though.
