Smile Need S-B's input, if you fish the canal on a bike or use a bike 4 fishing please read

So one thing I love about the ditch is, its bikes..The time that anglers put into thought and the gadgets that find there way on to the bikes I find ingenious and at times comical......With that said, a few years ago I got stuck in a traffic jam at the cape side of the borne bridge. The Traffic was caused by a huge car show that was going on. Well over the years I have taken many pictures of canal bikes at the ditch and love looking at them over and over. this got me thinking about maybe some how putting together the first ever Canal fishing bike show. I approached John at the show about it and we talked. We think this could be lots of fun and we could give ribbons and maybe prizes for different categories along with a cook out and maybe some fishing as well along the ditch. This would probably take place during the summer months when fishing slows down, so not to take away from the serious springtime fishing or the many derby's of the fall.....I would love to have an input as to see how many would be interested in doing this before having John make it a sticky and we get working on putting this thing together. I understand that some would rather not know what there bike looks like, but those don't have to participate...I really think this could be a lot of fun and full of laughs especially if we do categories like girliest bike, junk machine and so on.

So what do you guys think.

Thanks,

Roy L

As long as 5/0 gets a ribbon for girliest bike for the 2009 season I'm in. I think the color was called flaming purple. Don't make me bring my POS bike for custom paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like a great time to me.

As much as bikes on the canal annoy the living hell out of me, the bike show would be pretty cool...I'll definitely attend....what size roofing nails should I bring?....

MikeP said he would play a priest and bless the bikes as we rode by in a succession last year. So that would work into this as well.

Ahh, its a Connecticut Cruiser, light and stealthy. You guys with your flashy rigs wouldn't even get past the gate houses, never mind the Dobermans, roaming guards and lasers beams..
