North Shore Get Together

An excellent time was had by those in attendance. Plenty of food, fine conversations and I think I had gained a pound or two from eating.. Met a bunch of fine people today too.

Good to put some faces to the names, good spread of food and some cool stories. Fish did not cooperate in any of the locations Kev and I tried despite hearing them splashing/feeding at the last spot. Lotsa fire in the water. Gonna hafta try to get to a future leg. When is the next one?

Wonderful time and we did good in the catching area. Joe is the best and a guide extraordinaire, was a real pleasure and totally enjoyed not being the captain for a change. Thanks again Joe. The area is jewel. I'd never leave if I lived up that way. Great seeing all the guys and the new faces too. Well worth the ride but the ride home was longggggggggggg, got in around 3 or so i think. Hope to do it again next year.

Had a great time, usually by saturday afternoon when I go fishing I'm pretty bored since I fish at night mostly. Did'nt do anything in the catching area. I lit some boat up off the beach running in the dark, wonder who that was?

I had fun, it was a good time for sure. Great to meet some new faces and catch up with old.
The food was outstanding, enough for a small army.
It was great getting to fish with Joe and Paul, good that we had action in a slow period, i knew he'd know where the fish were. Thanks again Joe. I can see how eel fishing can be as addicting as plug fishing. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. And yes, loooong ride, redlite is probably still on his way home

Great Time - good to see some new faces as well as the old

At 2 something this morning I think we decided we should have listened to Joe (though it was a madhouse when we scoped it out first).

I think last night was the most miles I drove for two bumps.

It was a great afternoon!! Super to meet most of you for the first time....enjoyed the diverse food and many stories! Glad the applewood smoked Bluefish was a hit--as Bluefish usually gets negative reviews.
Especially cool to catch up with my hometown comrades from the "other Cape".
Hope to be able to wet lines with the gang next time.

Definitely a blast, good to meet some new people. Fish didn't cooperate but it's never 'easy' in August. Good food, thanks to all who spent the time to cook/bring grills and supplies etc etc. Very awesome.

I guess now I'll have to start making some 'obnoxious Eagles fan' posts in the sports forum

And just who gave that woman my sticker???!

Great time. Thanks to all who traveled and brought the assorted fine foods. Kevin, that corn was the sweetest I've had in a long time. We headed back to Marblehead when the midgies started coming out....

Bob Huddy just hit the road to head home. We crashed last night after 8 hours on the water. Today we did another nine hours chasing inshore tuna. Bob got to finally see them crashing the surface, though we did not hook up. We did winch in a 33" striper on a 50W.... Then we took the spiked macks into the rocks and caught a few nice fish to mid 30's" so Bob had some to take home. Good weekend. Good to see all you knuckleheads.

It truly was a great time sittin around BS'in. Food was the best we've had so far. Gourmet.
301 miles on the truck yesterday for 1 hit, one fish, 18#.
I have a new found admiration for those that shore fish up there. We hit Hampton, NH, Glouster, Ma, and Finally Marblehead.
The going up there is tougher than Newport. Now I know why you gotta have a boat up there. Parkin is a motha efer, and if you get a big fish tryin to get it back could be a matter of life or death. I felt like spiderman in my wetsuit a few times scaling rock cliffs.
First time I ever got made fun of by a bunch of crack heads at midnight for walkin into a convenience store in the hood in my wetsuit in the middle of the night.
A great experience.

Actually it was the Visor.......We have a pretty low tolerance for those up here.

All this whining about a little driving
A typical RI trip I do about 600, It would cut off 50 if there was a alnight coffe place halfway between westerly and gansett.

Why? Did you get stopped at the sobriety checkpoint the cops set up by the airport? Heard about it. Was after midnight.

When he decided to move down a point it was far more treacherous than either thought. With no moon and little ambient light, moving down the shoreline looks doable so Mike heads on his way with the understanding that if he finds fish at the next point he'll send me the "disco lights" and I'll follow. After 20 minutes of a red light going mostly up and down, just to get to the top of an 80 or so foot cliff, I was reminded of the noble character Sid, from "Ice Age" as he stares into the cave of doom in which he replies "I choose Life". Yes, disco lights or not, I decided I was not going over there UNLESS I saw him tumble - which was a real possibility. He spent another 20 minutes just getting to to where he could make a few casts. I would have died. It was nuts.
