Nice Night of Fishing
So after a disappointing sandbar shark season this year, I decided to try at some Sand Tigers after the noreaster. Hit a old haunt and it payed off. Ended the night with 6 and dropped two. Also had two of them go air borne on me and tail walk like blue fish. Sand Tigers are very protected and should be released if caught. All the ones I caught were tagged and released. Also they don't get as big as the browns or fight nearly as good, but they look a lot cooler!!!!!
Enjoy the pics...........and don't ask where .......hahahaha

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

Congrats Roy. Sand tigers, huh? We caught one yesterday in Vineyard Sound and didn't know what type of shark it was. Will have to download pics from camera and post since it was a decent size fish (er shark).

Where have the browns been this year?? Had the yak out for them twice, hit the beach for them a few times. Went 0/2 one night in the The Orca Jr., (and had one grab the chum bag) but that was it. Usually its far more consistent than that. Water was sure warm enough.

Thanks S-B!!! It's been a fun few nights.............As for the Browns, I have seen years when they just don't come in, but I think this year was diffrent. I got lots of reports of Sandbars early this year. The fish showed in Late June, which is early I think. Striper fishing was just to good to head out and try at that time. The season in my records usually last 2 weeks and peek somewhere between mid july and august and then they slowly become none existent. The Vinyard which once had a great fishery for them on South Beach has seen barely any over the last few years. This caused them to close there beach tornament which use to yelled many browns. Now protected I hope they can make a come back in numbers.
Got back out yesterday and managed another 3, one which had an old tag, that I took and replaced with one of mine. Here's a few more pics

Nice!!! Vineyard Sound has lots of them in the summer. I think they shadow schools of blue fish sometimes. I know the party boats see a good number of them on there bluefish night trips. Over the last few years we have seen a great increase in small Sand Tigers in Ma. Vineyard Sound, Duxbury, and Walliston Beach .............This is good since this shark isn't threaten by fishing, but because its slow reproduction. They do reach 10 feet and can weigh as much as 350lbs. The ones we get here in our water usually aren't over 5 feet. Tho I did see one about 7 feet long while diving the Target ship in Cape Cod Bay.
