I was out in it. Hit 2 spots plus most of Gansett. Total skunk, and lost my favorite bucky to a snag.

Eiders in that amount aren't a good sign.

I hung it up after Friday night, myself. Ended the season with some schoolies on light gear. I want to end it with fish on my last outing. I don't have it in me to break out the heavy Canal gear again, even with a reliable report of decent fish.

April to early November is enough. Started with fish wearing my knit hat on a 36 degree night in April, ended it the same way.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

Correction to my earlier post: After I wrote that, I decided to scout a few locations I hadn't been to in a long while. Two were dead, the last one had stripers harassing bait right off the beach. I caught about 10 schoolies (including a twofer on the teaser), one keeper and one 30" bluefish.
This was at about 4-5pm. Climbing barometer, go figure. When I left the action was still on, but I had told the wife I would be home at 16:30, so I was already on borrowed time...
