Just chumming the waters for GW sharks! Here sharky, sharky...

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Wow!! The report I heard said there were tons of people on this case. I hope no one was stupid enough to do this from this site. Not that we all wouldn't love to see less seals, but just in terms of the consequences, probably not a smart idea.

You are 100 percent right. I hate seals as much as the next Guy but we have enough stacked against us to keep what access to the fishery we have between birds seals rich "conservationists" something like this happening will affect all of us one way or another. I am certain of it. If it was a fisherman I hope the Guy gets caught and punishment served. Until they change the laws it is not our place to take them into our own hands.

How long before we get a recipe for "braised seal rump roast", "harbor seal tips" or "seal gumbo"?

Seal Cacciatore

Seal Chop Suey

Seal Marsala

Seal Fired Rice

Seal au gratin

Seal Rangoon

Moo Goo Seal Pan

Seal under Glass

Smoked Seal Ribs

Guy must have had a S & W .38 revolver. Only has five shots.

Shooter was only protecting nesting piping plovers about 500 yards away, LOL.

Everyone knows that piping plover tastes really good deep fried in seal blubber with a light sprinkling of sea salt and pepper...

on a more serious note tho... if this gets proven as being done by fishermen, rec or comm. expect some friggin consequences, that will plauge all who like to hit the beach with rod and reel, and perhaps inshore fish from small crafts....

sorry, but it's true....bad juju here.

On a serious note, it wouldn't suprise me if Greenpeace or ALF was behind this. "Drawing" attention to an innocent party..... We all know how those wackjobs are, I seem to recall something about disturbing nesting plovers years ago. Any comm guy worth his weight in salt would remember to make shure to weight the carcass.

I had the same thought particularly with NOAA culling the herd in the Pac NW. I am sure it has some environmentalists pissed. I am not going to speculate anything on whodunnit. Just hope they can not pin it on a fisherman.

Seals are sometimes a PITA. So is the traffic on 495 for the ride to the Ditch. So are all the weekend worriors who need 100 yards either side of them to not tangle lines, so are the slippery rocks , so are the loose debris like rope etc that snags your line. Its all part of the game. If it was easy we would be doing something else more challenging.

Do you really think people should be out shooting seals? There just another creature out there trying to enjoy life. Yes I've cursed them when they are 100 yards out with a 20 pounder flapping in their teeth while you have been skunked for hours. Sure I would shoo them away if I could. But would you shoot one?

I hope however did it has a big mouth and brags about it. Fine him to whatever extent is allowed but please be sure he can never legally carry a gun again!
