Inshore Swordfish chatter?
Heard some talk over the VHF this weekend about a someone boating a large swordfish Friday, while tuna fishing up this way, near shore, like within sight of land. Anyone else hear that or have other details?

500lbs. A few friends saw it to verify. Green cops were notified to see what the regs were. A one off catch. I doubt there is a fishery there for broadbills.

Guy's I caught the fish 92" lowerjaw to fork, 11'2' overall. Approx 400#.
We were 8.6 miles off the Annisquam and 13 mile out of the Merrimack on the 240 line. The fish hit a live Mack down 50'. We were chunking w/herring. The fish was loaded w/chunks when we cut it up.
Total fight time was 25min, from hook to tail wrap, and I'm not #^&#^&#^&#^&ting you, 25min.
I first thought it was a shark, it took the bait that way. Then it screamed off a 200' run straight down. After that it was a steady pull, but the 80 won out.
I can't figure how to post a pic or I would. My Marina is BPM

To post a pic:
Try to save your picture to your desktop, or a folder where you can find it easily
Hit "post reply" in this thread
At the next screen, scroll down a bit till you see "manage attachments" & click on that
A window will pop up, hit the first "browse" button, then find your pic and select it... hit "open", then "upload"
Then just hit "submit reply", should work fine.
Can you tell I really want to see a picture of this fish?? What an awesome catch, great job!
