How to kill poison Ivy without killing bushes next to it

I have a sectionabout 20 feet X 40 feet. It is about 3/4 covered in Poison Ivy. I'd like to spray the area with something that will kill the IVY but not kill the yews bushes that border the area. It would be nice if i could get it at a benny's or some other local stores. Its been covered a few years , mainly because I stopped mowing it (kind of steep for the ride around driven by fat old man). i was thinking if I could kill the IVY I could plant some ground cover stuff that would be low to the ground, look decent , not have to be mowed and keep the Ivy from coming back.

Ripping it up by hand is not an option for me so other ideas would be better.

Round-up will kill it...just cover the bushes next to the stuff with a tarp before you start spraying...and get close while you spray to keep it from drifting in the breeze

i used to swear by a strong Round up solution
and even bought four gallons of the poison Ivy specific
round up and it didn't kill it....in some spots
you have to have four consecutive days of sunshine
following a spraying regimen for the systemic to work

but since then i have switched over to smothering it
and will used 6 mil black plastic from now on
in a large area , and use piles of OAK leaves that contain
Tanic acid that kills out stuff fairly well and/ or a combination
of all three..... you basically have to declare WAR

Have to get the roots out for it to not come back, get a small body suit and pay a neighborhood kid to pull them out. Have him pull it out and not shake the dirt off, just right into a container, then pour gas into the holes he pulled and set them on fire.

well ya can't burn ANY poison IVY EVER because it is a toxic Gas and even killed
one of my Uncles who was taking a shower and the smoke from a leaf and poison ivy pile came through his bathroom window and he had it from head to toe.
several weeks later he had died from Urishol oil in the smoke that he accidentally inhaled. I am Totally NOT Kidding . I HATE poison IVY and I love eradicating it.
i am like BF ....i give it a dirty look and i have it.

They sell a poison ivy spray like a weed killer at Homies, then wear some long sleeves, and gloves dig it out after it dies.

Put your Round up or whatever in your wife's mop bucket ant then wet a kitchen sponge mop in the roundup and just pat the Ivy.
Another way (used on bogs) is to put a couple of heavy socks on a hockey stick and then wave it back and forth on the ivy
