Finally First Keepers Caught Today
Finally caught my first keepers of the season
today in Scituate. I caught five fish total and two keepers both
30" in length and very fat. Also lost a really nice fish at
least as big as the other two, (I think bigger, it was taking me
for some line) and with that fish went one of my Gibbs pencil
poppers, white with a red head and a bucktail, (thats what we were throwin') also mackeral painted. My girlfriend, otherwise
known as fishChick, caught three and had a ball. She caught her first keeper last Friday. Damn that felt good.
Anyone else hittin' em hard? Lets hear it. This ones is gonna
taste real good.

I am formally renouncing any affiliation with Team Sea
Monkey as I have never fished with, or recieved validation of
membership. I would also like to publicly request acceptance
of my membership request to join Team Ave Maria and all
benefits that are included in said membership.
What was I thinking?

Hey BigFish!
Congrats on the keeper. I'm newbie on this board, fish mostly in Marshfield. Are you boater or surf? If surf, where do you normally fish (unless it's a secret spot)? I know most of the usual Scituate haunts.
I got my first fish of the season this evening at Green Harbor jetty. Just schoolies on variety of plugs. They appeared to be moving in and out following some unidentified bait. Nice to feel a tight line again.

Hey Rexhamer, I fish 99.9% surf, and I will tell you some
of my secret spots but not the one's where I catch fish.
Just kidding Rexhamer. I fish quite a bit, in fact 75% of the time
down the Cape, P-Town, Wellfleet, and Truro. The rest of the time
I fish in Hull and Scituate. Today I was fishing in Humarock, throwing Gibbs 1 oz. pencil poppers.

Hey BigFish,
I am probabaly 70/30 boat/ surf. I trailer a small center console, but sometimes time, energy and solitude lure me to the surf (pun intended). Brant Rock and Beetle's Rocks are two favorites. Have a buddy in Scituate that is a regular at 2nd cliff, so I go ther occassionally.
I fish the Cape on occassion as well. Will be trailering the boat to Dennis for a week's vacation in August. I do not know the Outer Cape that well. Maybe I can get some advise on spots from you someday.

The girls have finally arrived in this neck of the woods!!!
Two low twenty inch fish around 7 am and another half dozen this evening. One 28, others mid low 20s, one twinkie. All taken from shore, east side of the Neck. Bucktails baby!
I feel better now
